About the job

We are a 20-person team in the fast-moving AI-powered developer platform space, and we are growing fast, just recently announced a $6.6 million fundraising.

Our founders spend their days on product and customers, and we are looking for the person who will make sure everything around them simply runs.

At Kodesage, you will have real freedom and real responsibility in a passionate, seasoned team. We believe in a culture where the best ideas win and where ownership matters more than job titles. If you are early in your career, hungry to learn how a company actually runs, and the kind of person who cannot leave a messy process alone, we would love to hear from you.

Why This Role Exists

As we grow, more and more of the work that keeps a company alive (invoices, contracts, office, finance coordination, the dozens of small things) lands on the founders' desks. Every hour they spend on an invoice, or a supplier email is an hour they are not spending with customers or on the product.

We need someone who will take this load off them: bring order to it, own it, and then automate as much of it away as possible. This is not a role where you inherit a clean playbook. You will build the playbook. That is the opportunity, and that is why this role exists.

The Role

This is a broad, hands-on operations role at the center of a small company. You will work directly with the founders and the COO, and you will touch almost every part of how Kodesage operates.

The role has two sides that feed each other. On one side, you keep daily operations running smoothly: finance administration, contracts, the office, the small things that make a team work. On the other side, and this is the part that makes the role exciting, you make those operations better. After you do something manually once or twice, your job is to ask how to make sure no one ever has to do it by hand again, and then to go build that: a process, a template, a small internal tool. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should be genuinely eager to use AI and lightweight "vibe coding" to automate the boring parts.

We will be honest with you: some of this work is administrative. What we are offering is the chance to own it, eliminate it, and grow well beyond it. As you take more off the founders' plate and prove you can run things, your scope will grow: into finance and controlling, into UK operations, into whatever the company needs next.

What You Will Do

In your first months, you will gradually take ownership of work that the founders handle today. Concretely, that includes:

  • Finance administration: processing incoming invoices and issuing outgoing ones (tracking the schedule, accounting for inflation and discounts, coordinating with the account owner), and managing receivables.
  • People and contracts: employment contracts across the full lifecycle, NDAs and agreements with suppliers, partners, and contractors, and insurance administration.
  • Office and team: running the Budapest office and its suppliers, and organizing team events and merchandise that keep the team happy.
  • Process and automation (the part we care about most): redesigning, automating, and building small internal tools so that founder-dependent work runs in a fraction of the time, with no founder needed.

As You Grow

The following are not first-day requirements. They are where the role can expand as you take on more, especially if you bring a finance background or develop one with us:

  • Finance and controlling: owning the relationship with our accountant, preparing the monthly internal report and the monthly investor report, recording invoices in the bank, and preparing the numbers our investors expect
  • UK operations: gradually taking responsibility for our UK office and operations

Who You Are

  • Experience: 2-4 years in operations, business operations, consulting, finance, or a fast-paced startup or scale-up. We will also consider exceptional recent graduates with strong, relevant internship experience.
  • Languages: Fluent Hungarian and English.
  • Temperament: You are not afraid of administrative work, but you refuse to accept it as permanent. You are energized by taking something messy and making it orderly, then making it automatic.
  • AI and automation: You have a genuine interest in AI and in making processes more efficient. You are willing to learn enough scripting, no-code, or "vibe coding" to build small tools yourself.
  • Ambiguity: You can manage ambiguity, juggle many things at once, and decide what matters most without someone telling you.
  • Cheerful personality: You bring good energy to the team and stay positive, even when the work is busy or unclear.
  • Mindset: You care about impact more than your title. You take ownership, you follow things through, and you want to grow with the company.

Nice to Have

  • Studies or a background in finance or accounting, a strong plus and a natural path into the controlling side of the role
  • Any experience building internal tools, automations, or working with no-code, low-code, or scripting
  • Experience in an early-stage startup, where you wore many hats
  • Familiarity with or interest in the UK and Central European business environment

What We Value

  • Ownership: You take something and run with it. You do not wait to be told the next step.
  • Builder's Mindset: You want to build and improve things, not just keep them running.
  • Pragmatism: You focus on what actually helps, not on what looks impressive.
  • Curiosity: You are genuinely interested in how AI changes what one person can do.
  • Collaboration: You work seamlessly across the team and become the person everyone trusts to get things done.

This Role Is for You If...

You are early in your career, ambitious, and you want real responsibility fast. You are not too proud to scan an invoice or order supplies for the office, but you are exactly the kind of person who, after doing it twice, asks how to make sure no one ever has to do it by hand again. You want to learn how a company runs from the inside, work shoulder to shoulder with founders, and watch your scope grow as quickly as you do.

This role has significant room to grow as Kodesage scales. If that excites you, we would love to hear from you.
